In more than sixteen years of practice, I have been fortunate to help hundreds of people; some with small problems and others with more complicated issues. I consider it a privilege to be an attorney and take seriously the responsibility that comes with that privilege.
I previously served as Deputy, and then led as General Counsel, a very proactive Office of the General Counsel for the Executive Office of the Mayor of Washington, D.C. My team helped resolve high-stakes problems that affected the Mayor, his staff and his administration. As General Counsel, I was the Mayor's advocate and worked with Council members, residents and community groups.
Prior to my four-year tenure in public service, I spent eleven years in private practice working on behalf of individuals and institutional clients. This work included multiple millions of dollars worth of business and real estate transactions and appearances in courts in D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
Equally as important, I have been able to assist people in great need of help, including folks who have been unable to access the justice system, others who have been unable to competently care for themselves and still others who were at great risk of being taken advantage of due to poor health, age or incapacity. Much of that help has been through the provision of low-cost or pro-bono legal service.
I am an attorney, advisor and advocate for my clients.
